With his music, Arcadius Didavi mixes jazz with traditional African music and more. With his multicultural quartet he succeeds in this even more: You can expect never-before-heard sound worlds and rousing grooves!

Arcadius Didavi, bassist and singer, is fascinated by his compositions, which make music from Benin fruitful for modern jazz. Inspired by Fela Kuti's Afrobeat and the fusion of Joe Zawinul and Lionel Loueke, Didavi weaves polyrhythms with jazz harmonies to create his personal, pulsating definition of modern jazz. Didavi's creativity knows no bounds, be it in his virtuoso groovy-funky bass guitar playing or in lyrical-gentle pieces that he interprets on the tanikka and double kalimba African instruments he built himself! His charming way of involving the audience, the poetic drama of his songs, the use of African proverbs and his warm-hearted singing create an intoxicating atmosphere full of joy of life. Arcadius is accompanied by three fantastic Berlin musicians.

Vladimir Karparov - Vladimir Karparov is considered one of the leading artists in Europe when it comes to the fusion of Balkan and jazz music. In 2020, Vladimir Karparov was recognized by the Bulgarian Ministry of Culture as one of the world's most important representatives of Bulgarian culture. He has performed as a sideman and bandleader at some of the world's most prestigious festivals and concert halls and can be heard on countless recordings. His musical collaborations range from performances with the legendary Ivo Passov and Uwe Kropinski to arrangements and recordings for Shantel's chart-breaking album "Planet Paprika."

Kelvin Lamar Sholar is a pianist and keyboardist from Detroit, Michigan. He began as a gospel singer with his parents, but later developed into a classical and jazz pianist and won the Michigan Bach Festival competition at the age of sixteen. Sholar initially worked with local artists (such as Marcus Belgrave and Francisco Mora-Catlett) before performing nationally and internationally with jazz greats such as Wallace Roney, Kevin Saunderson, Mark Turner, Greg Osby, Caron Wheeler, Jerry Gonzales and John Tchicai. However, his work is not limited to jazz: he has also collaborated with Stevie Wonder, star violinist Nigel Kennedy and techno pioneer Carl Craig.

Christi Joza Orisha is a drummer with a wide musical range and an extraordinary rhythmic understatement. The Benin-born musician is inspired by melodies, sounds, rhythms and various musical styles from around the world, developing his adaptability through intensive research into traditional West African rhythms. He worked with musicians such as Lionel Louèkè, John McLaughlin, Angélique Kidjo and Leni Stern.
