The joint fund of Imrich Vanek and Olga Vaneková is part of the Vanek House in Bratislava. In today's virtual age, this analogue record of life, creation and professional activity, thinking and professional and private contacts is a rich source of information.
The basic sorting of the fund into individual groups and subgroups took place during the months of July and August 2025 during the residency of archivist Katarína Kučerová Bodnárová. Due to the amount of preserved archival material, several ordinary meters, it was possible to carry out basic archival research during this period. The material was diluted and the following basic groups were created within the fund: biographical material (personal documents, awards, personal prints, biographical material); accounting and other material relating to works of art; correspondence; personal photo documentation; original works of art; documentation relating to the works; own exhibition activity and participation in symposia; reviews in the press; other; archive documents of Olga Vaneková.
Already in this form, however, it is possible to use archival material (especially documentation on monumental creations, or exhibition activities and participation in symposia) when designing projects connected with the work of Imrich Vanek.
Katarína Kučerová Bodnárová graduated from the Department of Archives and Auxiliary Historical Sciences at the Faculty of Philosophy of the Comenius University in Bratislava. During her master's and doctoral studies, she devoted herself to the topic of diplomatic production of the Order of Canonesses of St. Augustín of the Order of Notre Dame in Bratislava and modern urban diplomacy with an emphasis on the category of urban books. Since 2009, he has been managing the Fine Art Archive of the Slovak National Gallery. Currently, he is interested in the issue of personal funds, especially of visual artists, from acquisition to final processing - inventorying and making them available to the public. She is the author of scientific studies and professional articles related to these areas.
How do you get to us?�
The location has only a limited number of parking spaces, so we recommend that you choose transportation by trolleybus (No. 44 direction Koliba). Get off at the Čremchová stop and continue to the entrance to Dom Vanek (Hlavná 25), approximately 50 meters on foot. Thank you for your understanding.
The residence is part of the year-round program of the Banská St anica Contemporary residential center, which is active in 2025 in three locations: Banská Štiavnica, Bratislava and Ilija.
