About event

Do you feel like your creativity needs a little boost?
Are you drawn to the hidden meanings of nature and mysterious, philosophical ideas that link art, science, and curiosity? ✨🌱🧪🌌🌿
In this painting class, we’ll be exploring the world of Giuseppe Arcimboldo. We’ll look at how his imaginative, symbolic approach to painting can inspire our own work. Arcimboldo used plants, fruits, fire, vegetables, animals, and more to build entire visual worlds—sometimes playful, sometimes philosophical. His paintings were full of strange combinations and secret meanings, reflecting both a deep respect for nature and a fascination with transformation 🍎🔍🍐🥬📚🍇🌀🔮

✨ Discover how cabinets of curiosity inspired a new way of seeing the world
✨ Explore how to create your own symbolic, nature-based composition in Arcimboldo’s spirit

ABOUT THE TEACHER:

Irene Antonez is a Prague-based multimedia artist, specializing in surreal, psychedelic-inspired paintings that explore the intersection of nature, animism, and the philosophy of psychedelics. Her work often features entheogenic plants, fungi, and microscopic organisms, inspired by her deep connection with nature and research into Indigenous knowledge and rituals. Beyond painting, she creates large-scale murals and animations, and has collaborated with other artists on interactive installation art projects.
Antonez holds master’s degrees in Fine Art and Future Design from Prague City University. Her work has been showcased in various group shows and solo exhibitions alongside art festivals such as Ozora Fest in Hungary and Fenix Fest in the Czech Republic, with pieces in private collections worldwide. She has been featured on nature and psychedelics-focused podcasts like Welcome to the Mushroom Hour and Mycopreneur and starred in the short film Mushroom Magic, based on her art.
