Armindo Fernandes
Born in Vagos, Aveiro, on January 20, 1946, discovered his passion for the Portuguese guitar at the age of 9. At 18, he moved to Lisbon, where he professionalized, accompanying renowned fado singers such as Cidália Moreira, Friar Hermano da Câmara, Carlos do Carmo, Tristan da Silva, António Mourão, Fernando Maurício, Francisco Martinho, Fernando Farinha, Alfredo Marceneiro, Maria Valejo, Max and Amália Rodrigues. He performed in countries such as the United States, Canada, China, Australia, South Africa and India.
In 1984, he launched his first solo work, "The Song of My Hands." Participated in the soundtrack of the Spanish film "Años Después" (2011) and joined the musical "Amália" by Filipe La Féria (2017). Recently, he appeared in the "La Casa de Papel" series alongside Cidália Moreira, playing "Grândola, Vila Morena".
In 2022, it released the album "Armindo Fernandes and Friends", with ten original themes being eight of his own, celebrating more than 50 years dedicated to Fado.
