About event
Arooj Aftab returns to Portugal on October 28th, at Teatro Tivoli BBVA, to present his latest project 'Night Rein'.
"The night", confesses Arooj Aftab, "is my biggest source of inspiration".
'Night Reign' (Verve, 2024) is a fragrant public garden of renewal, which awakens the senses with each composition, each change of phrase, each modulation.
Moving away from, yet never forgetting, the pain and loss that informed his Grammy-winning album, Vulture Prince (Verve/New Amsterdam, 2021), Aftab appears here with original music and in another form : as bard of everyday possibility, stillness, and life-altering romance.
In this latest body of work, Aftab has collaborated with names such as James Francies, Cautious Clay, Kaki King, Maeve Gilchrist, Vijay Iyer, Moor Mother, Joel Ross and Marc Anthony Thompson.
"I want to make music with and for everyone", she declares with confidence. Night Reign is that opportunity and its triumph.
The first performance of Arooj Aftab's new album in Portugal will take place on October 28th, at Teatro Tivoli BBV. Join and be reborn.
