Arte Románico

The proposal of this activity is to participate in a commented visit of the Romanesque art rooms of the National Museum of Catalonia (MNAC).

The Romanesque and Medieval Works Fund of the MNAC brings together a valuable set of pieces of the XI to XIII centuries, among which the mural paintings stand out as the most characteristic of the museum's collection.

The tour of the Romanesque art rooms allows to obtain a broad vision of this artistic style, and its historical context, through works such as the murals carried out in the splendid churches of the Vall de Boí (Lleida), or the paintings created in the chapter room of the Royal Monastery of Santa María de Sijena (Huesca), and that are currently in the final phase of a long litigation.

The cost of the activity is 8 euros that include the group entrance to the museum and the commented visit.
