We invite you to the presentation of Ester Geisler's work.
The presentation will take place in our studio Nová Media 2 on the third floor on the main building of the AVU (address: U Academy 4, Prague 7, Letná) on Tuesday 29.4.2025 at 5 pm. We have been watching her work for many years and we were very interested in the 2024 project, which bears the name we were to say and did not say. The project is part of the wider cooperation between Ester and paired psychotherapist Jan Vojtek. The project was exhibited in Kunsthalle in Prague in 2024. The presentation will take place in Czech, but in case of interest we will be able to translate into ANJ. ENG text Bellow
o Ester:
Czech artist and actress who moves across various art fields. She graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in the field of New Media II. In the studio of intermediate confrontation, at the Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design in Prague, she stayed as part of his studies for a year and a half. It primarily focuses on video installations and examines the relationship of image and sound. As part of her own art, she embarked on the field of exploration of the existential banality of human lives, including the authors who examine human identity, often using themselves. They try to involve meaningfully in their work of thinking about their own life, their diverse professional experience, humor, film processing and acting experience. Esther is the curator of the project “Therapy by sharing” and since 2019 she has been working on lectures (Live and Reset therapy) with a paired therapist and psychotherapist Honza Vojtek, with whom they focus on a common topic, how online communication affects our relationships and communication itself. He is preparing an exhibition of his father, calligraph and Japanologist Petr Geisler, a film about him "two deci tuše", a children's performance "On Mobiles and Children". The extensive video installation of ten short films "What we should have said", on relationships and communication, was listed in Kunsthalle in June to September 2024

Exhibition of what we should say and did not say the possibilities and limits of mutual communication in intimate relations. In ten videos Ester Geisler, she combined acting, therapy, humor and surprise - the heroes of her short films seek and try ways to understand others and understand them. The artist carefully chose the actresses, actresses, actors and psychotherapist, and gave them a performative task - to interpret the text written for them by their partners, partners or herself. The actresses and actors could also co -create the character of their character, including costumes, masks, scenes and props. Videos were made in close directorial cooperation between artists and performers, and the process itself has become an important part of the project.

We HAVE BEEN FOLOWING HER WORK FOR MANY Years and We Were Very Interest in Her Latest Project, WHICH IS CALLED WHAT WE SHOULD'VE SAID BUT DIDN'T THE PROJECT IS PART OF A WIDER COLLABORATION BETWEEN ESTER AND COUPL Psychotherapist Jan Vojtko. The Project Was Exhibited in the Prague Kunsthale in 2024. We Asked Ester to Come and Present This Project and Its Wider Context to US.The presentation Will Be in Czech, But IF It Will Be Need, We Will Be Able to Translate Ino English.

An extension video installation of Ten Short Films “What We Should have Said and Didn't Say”, On the Topic of Relationships and Communication, Was Shown at the Kunsthale From June to September 2024.
About Her Projects: Said But Doidn’t Explores the Possibilities and Limits of Mutual Communication in Intimate Relationships. In A Series of Ty Videos, Geisler Distinctively and Playfully Combines Active, Therapy, Humour, and Surprise. The Protagonists of the Her Short Films Search for and Test Out Ways of Understanding and Empathising with Others. The Artist Carefully Selected the Participants from Among Her Closest Friends, Approaching Actresses, Actors, and Even Psychotherapist, and Gave Them and Performative Task: to interpret and text Written for Their Partners or Geisler Herself.The Co-Create the Person of Their Characters, Including The Costumes, Masks, Sets, and Props. The Creation of the Videos Consisted in a Close Directorial Collaboration Between the Artist and the Performers, Making the Process Itself an Important Part of the Project.
