📸 1956: Odyssey-Personal and Collective Stories of Ata Kanos
Ata Kanda (1913-2017) was born under the name Etelka Greek not only a milestone in the history of Hungary, but also a decisive year in the life of Ata Kano. As he continued his or her ordering work, he started two significant work today as projects. One is an extremely personal creation based on the stories of Homer's Odyssey in southern Italy. It was only more than fifty years later that the public was known to the public.
The other was a cooperative project dealing with the consequences of suppression of the Hungarian Revolution. These pictures were made with Violette Cornelius on the
Austrian-Hungarian border. In the work of Ata Kano 1956 it is a period of parallel and reflective application of autonomous and collaborative photographic attitudes. The exhibition places these two works, later in the form of photo books, and gives visitors a deeper insight into the photographer's personal and social -related imagery practice. curator

📸 Bertien van Manen, Winter Travel - Budapest 1975
Bertien Van Manen is a defining figure in the international documentary photo. Through his work, we get to know a brave and sensitive creator who was primarily concerned with the periphery of society. He has made many long -term travel, including Russia, China and the United States. In December 1975, his first journey led to Hungary from a kind of romantic imagination and the curiosity of the everyday life behind the Iron Curtain, and the pictures taken here will be first seen by the Pécs audience, before that they had never been exhibited before. The exhibition started in 2023, unfortunately it could not be reached anymore.
Curator: Claudia Küssel
📸 Katalin Nádor: Light of the forms
Katalin Nádor (1938-2018) for decades as the Janus Pannonius Museum The photographer documenting his exhibitions and outdoor actions was known. His experimental, lyrical abstract photographic work received no professional attention, nor does he report Hungarian photography, while his works of 1960s and 1970s are photographic legacy of György Kepes and László Moholy-Nagy, and contemporary, new-constructivist, geometric. His photographs, photograms and photograms and graphic still life analyzes, however, testify to a sensitive and unique creative vision that sees and shows the natural and built environment, the landscape and the object, and the creative potential of photographic abstraction. Róna
📸 Luca Gőbölyös: Background
The series of photographs entitled Background were based on a fantastic picture: 19th-century Victorian infant and toddlers photographs. In the 1850s and 1970s, the exposure time was so long that they could not photograph infants alone because they would have moved, but their mother could keep them in her lap with safe and rest.
The interesting of these pictures is that the mother was covered, so she gets more or less. Today, weird images that encourage a wide variety of associations are the end results. The mother is not present, helps, keeps the baby, but not visible, and cannot be present on the baby's photography, symbolizing the separation of the two lives and the beginning of a new life for both of them.
