About event
The film will be presented by director Vít Janeček.
In a small northern German town, Dr. Caligari fear and terror with the help of Cesare. During the day, Caligari exposes Cesare to a fair where he predicts the future under hypnosis. At night, however, Caligari's slave passes through the city and commits insane murders at the behest of his master.
When one night a young man, to whom Cesare foretold his impending death, dies, Francis begins to suspect Dr. Caligari. Suspicion turns to certainty when Cesare kidnaps Francis' girlfriend Jane. This cinematic gem is a prime example of expressionist cinema and contributed to the international recognition of German cinema.
