atrin Madani has long been no more in the Jazz scene. With his impressive voice and its versatile repertoire, the son of Iranian immigrants has now conquered a place in the hearts of jazz lovers. The Berlin singer is listening to the intensive preoccupation with predecessors such as Frank Sinatra, Mel Tormé, Andy Williams or Tony Bennett. However, he honors the masters by not copying them, but self -confident his own way. Last year, freshly nominated for the German Jazz Prize for the debut album of the year, Atrin plays a new program this evening, but one thing is certain: As always, it will be a first -hand feast!

atrin Madani is a world traveler in terms of jazz, in his Schöneberg neighborhood firmly rooted. Born in 1998, if he was a Berliner without an east or west, he has never seen the division of the city, never saw the wall. Berlin became the capital and seat of government, for him it is especially the German capital of jazz. And there are no limits, no walls. Jazz is a universal language. Everything started with Schumann, Mahler and Bach. At the age of ten, Atrin entered the state and cathedral choir Berlin, sang with the DSO and the Berlin Philharmonic under Ingo Metzmacher and Sir Simon Rattle. In 2018, in the meantime he had started his jazz singing in Dresden, he was included in the vocal ensemble of the internationally renowned federal jazz orchestra. In autumn 2019 he moved from the Elbe to the Spree and continued his studies at the Jazz Institute Berlin (JIB). In Berlin he has developed into a fixture of the local scene. In his still young career, Atrin had the great honor with people like Django Bates, Jiggs Whigham, Marc Secara, Christian von Kaphengst, Torsten Goods, Thomas Stieger, Hendrik Smock, Benny Brown, Lisa Bassenge, Peter Fessler and many more. In September 2017, he was given the opportunity to appear at the Federal President's Citizens' Festival, Frank-Walter Steinmeier, and in October 2021 at the awarding of the Berlin honorary citizenship to the Federal President in the Red Rathaus Berlin. In September 2021, Atrin recorded his debut album "Where are we now" in the Berliner Hansa Studios, which was published in March.

Hila Kulik began studying piano at the age of 8 and graduated from Jerusalem Academy in 2010. After playing with many of the best musicians of Israel, Hila came to New York in January 2014 and acquired a master's degree at the Aaron Copland School of Music on Queens College in January 2016. Hila has performed with leading jazz musicians in Israel and abroad in the past ten years, including Cyrille Aimee, Antonio Hart, Donald Harrison, Michael Varekamp and many more. They appeared in countless venues and festivals from Israel across Europe to the United States. In addition to her pianistic activity, she works as a consultant and coordinator for the jazz program at the Aaron Copland School of Music.

Alexander Rueß - the Berlin -based Alexander Rueß is a freelance guitarist, composer and producer. He played in the concert occupation of the Federal Jazzorchestra (Bujazzo) 2018/19 and studied at the Jazz Institute in Berlin and the Rytmisk Music Conservatory in Copenhagen. His teachers included jazz greats such as Peter Bernstein, Sandra Hempel, Lage Lund, Paulo Morello, Håvard Wiik and Finn Wiesner. Concert tours led him across Western Europe as well as to Japan, Canada and the USA. In 2019 Alexander Rueß was awarded the Lübeck Jazz Prize. After graduating from high school, he first studied at the University of Music in Dresden and moved to the Berlin Jazz Institute two years later. He was a member of the Ljjo Hamburg and Ljjo Schleswig-Holstein.

Olaf Casimir, born in 1969, began to play double bass at the age of 11. He broke off school at 16 and has been working as a musician ever since. After a stay from 1989 to 90 in New York City, he returned to Germany and played with various jazz formations.
