About event
The steel cello - painted steel rods transfer their vibrations to a stainless steel sheet in a very own time dimension. One sounded somewhere between ether and steel mill. Slowness is inevitable, the experience of time is essential. Inspired by Bob Ruthman's sound sculptures, Jan Heinke founded the steel harry in Dresden in 1999. The originally eight steel instruments were four - the steel quartet.

Time and sounded under the Lupe
The steel cello - painted steel sticks transferred to a stainless steel sheet in a very own time dimension. One sound between ether and steelworks.
Lowness is inevitable, the experience of time is essential.
OB Bach, own compositions or improvisations - each piece of music receives an unexpected turn, transformed into painted steel.
Inspired by Bob Ruthman's sound sculptures. Steel instruments) in Dresden.
"to live in such a fast -moving time, allows observations that were never possible before." This quote from Jan originally referred to quantum physics and cosmological relationships. But just as he focused on the smallest particles or out into space, he also looked deeply in sound and harmony, always ready to discover new universes.
From the originally eight instruments over the years. And unfortunately it was made of four three. Jan died in 2022 - an irreplaceable loss. Despite the following and his and our wish, we are four again today - the steel quartet is "Back on Stage".
According to the old steel quartet tradition, we take up "Tempo" again, put the musical view of detail and far away, absolutely openly to absorb new places, people and their sound culture.
