Designing future spaces with Design Fiction.

Breaking out of the floor plan - with Design Fiction future spaces design.

What awaits you:

What if your office in 2035 was a meeting place for people, avatars and artificial intelligence? What if the space itself recognized your needs - or ignored them?

In this workshop we use methods from the field of design fiction to radically break away from current ideas about the office. Instead of optimizing existing spaces, we design speculative scenarios for the office of the future - narrative, visual, prototype. After short impulses about the method and attitude, you will develop fictitious everyday situations in a creative, playful process with other participants, which will be translated into prototypes or spatial concepts. The result is a concrete artifact: e.g. B. a room plan, storyboard or model - that inspires, irritates and changes.

This workshop is suitable for you if:

... you understand spatial design as a strategic tool for shaping the future.

... you want to use creative methods to develop ideas for transformation, new work or innovation.

... you need new thinking impulses to break through entrenched planning logic.

... you prefer to think with hands, pictures or stories instead of with tables.

That's what you'll learn with this Workshop:

• How to use design fiction as a thinking and design method to create radical future scenarios.
• How to use narratives, images and artifacts to open up new spaces of thought and possibility.
• How to develop a scenario from a story and from it a spatial prototype.
• What a good prototype can do: Question, inspire, be visible do.
