About event
Author & Punisher celebrates 20 years of Industrial Doom and Drone Machines.
Tristan Shone, mechanical engineer, sound artist and inventor, has been challenging the limits of industrial sound for two decades as Author & Punisher, his solo project that fuses music, engineering and visual art. Using custom machines and controllers designed by himself – known as Drone Machines – he has created a visceral, physical and deeply immersive sound experience that moves between doom, noise, drone and experimental electronics.
In 2024, Author & Punisher celebrated 20 years of a career marked by constant innovation: designing, manufacturing and perfecting unique instruments that have allowed him to take his compositions and performances to another level. Throughout these years, he has shared the stage and tours with artists such as Tool, Perturbator, Neurosis, among many others, consolidating himself as a key figure at the forefront of heavy and technological sound.
For 2025, the launch of his eighth studio album is announced through Relapse Records, promising a new, more intense and ritualistic stage of his live project, where interaction man-machine reaches a new level of emotional and physical depth.
In addition to his musical career, Shone leads Drone Machines, a custom audio equipment company that invites musicians and creators to explore the expressive potential of mechanical design and touch interface. These machines not only produce sound, but become physical extensions of the artist's body, redefining the relationship between technology and creativity.
