This evening combines the knowledge and experiences of the artists into an interdisciplinary homage and response to the works of the Sicilian author Goliarda Sapienza. With the desire to pass on what they have gained from reading Sapienza's works, this performance was created as a place for sisterhood and transformation.
By intertwining different media, a hybrid performative dimension is created and creates the encounter between literature and performing arts as well as a dialogue between different European cultures and histories. The work and the author Goliarda Sapienza come to life in the form of an artistic and poetic gesture, connected in the pursuit of freedom and joy.
*On December 6th, following the performance, we invite you to a talk about the performative and theatrical element of Sapienza's writing and the circular relationship between body and text. Alberica Bazzoni, dramaturge and one of the world's leading specialists for the author Goliarda Sapienza, who is still relatively unknown in Germany, will lead through this after show talk. Bazzoni has conducted research at the University of Oxford, among others, is a former resident at the ICI in Berlin and the author of numerous works on Goliarda Sapienza.
