Discussion with Michael Papcun
Trying to combine. In the midst of such a decaying continent, the victory of the world, catastrophic geopolitical scenarios, occultures, and echo of cultural currents. From Flemish Animaliers, through the Slovak avant -garde and the Austrian rap scene we enter the current heart of Europe. Ugly Europa is the second part of the Ghetto Palm, Ugly Europa and Black Metal,
Ugly Europa, examines the effort, possibilities and limits of mutual coexistence, efforts to stay in the background of slowly disintegrating or atoming Europe and its catastrophic scenarios.
The book's poetics is based on references to European literature and fine arts, working with archaic metaphor (for example, returning to the metaphor of Flemish paintings) and work by updating romanticism and its principles, based on the philosopher of the philosopher Marcel Gauchet and the theory of re-recruitment of the world.
The name Ugly Europa is based on the current Writer Slang, where it indicates artistic interventions in industrial and urban areas with so -called. “Antistyle” with graffiti. The title of the book takes over this term and transforms it into a metaphor of contemporary moods and "Zeitgeist" on the "old continent".
