About event
We invite you to an author's reading of Pavla Melková's poetry in the space of the Antony Gormley / Pavla Melková exhibition combined with a guided tour on Thursday, December 12 at 6:00 p.m.
Poems in the gallery intertwine with drawings or objects and intensify their experience by the viewer, just as objects and drawings intensify the perception of poems.
Poems read personally by the author in the exhibition space can thus provide visitors with another dimension, deepening the immediate experience of the exhibition.
Poems by Pavla Melková can be understood as images of the perception of the environment. Like a line of his essence drawn in words. They are not an image of the appearance of the environment itself, but of the feeling it evokes in us. The form of the poems is lapidary and abstract. But their foundation lies firmly in the concrete physical and lived world. At the same time, the language of spatial relations and their metaphorical meanings connect the mood of the soul with the properties of the surrounding world. Sometimes at the beginning there are relationships within the soul that connect with those in the surrounding environment. Sometimes, on the contrary, real places and situations evoke an image of the state of the soul. The visitor does not find specific source situations of the author behind individual poems, but associates his own situations and their images in his mind through the universality of metaphorical images. After leaving the exhibition, he can find these relationships in the real environment of everyday life.
Entrance is free.
