About event
The second exhibition of the Werkbund in Stuttgart in 1927 started a parade of similar settlements in Europe by presenting a sample colony on the Weissenhof hill. On the walk, participants will get to know the uniquely preserved complex of functionalist villas from 1932-1936, the construction of which was participated by leading architects of three generations, e.g. Josef Gočár, Oldřich Starý, Ladislav Žák, Evžen Linhart, František Zelenka and others. The author of the regulatory plan was Pavel Janák, whose 140th anniversary of birth was commemorated this March. Participants will also learn who the builders were and what their life fates were.
