About event
Bachtale APSA
Bachtale APSA, in translation of the tears of happiness, expresses the diversity of moods and emotions that Roma music has ever evokes in listeners. The band connects the music of the Balkan, Hungarian, Spanish and Slovak Roma. Of course, there are classic Čardáš. But the repertoir is not only formed by Roma traditional music, but also the author's work of Mári Bihári and Petr Horvát. In the music of Bachtale APSA, there are Roma melodies with rumba, tango, flamenco, swing and other hundreds. In any case, the foundation of the band is the virtuoso accordion of the blind Roma musician Mári Bihári, who is accompanied by an excellent guitarist and phenomenal singer Peter Horvát.
Another member is the original violinist Adam Pospíšil, one of the few "gades" playing with Roma bands.
Jazz Feeling is supplied by an exceptional trumpeter Nicholas Roy Arthefer, a native of Boston, USA, who permanently anchored in Prague. The rhythmic engine of the band is the original percussionist and drummer Radek Sivák, playing great on anything that just gets in his way and great bassist Michal Sivák.
Bachtale APSA has been operating in various sets since 2010 and has played hundreds of concerts at home and abroad, the furthest in India and Algeria.
