BAITS oscillate between punk energy, pop instinct and the sweaty charm of the 90s, with lots of raw energy and deliberately placed edge - raw, melodic and always a bit unpredictable. With tracks like “Sleep with You” or “Take Me Out” they not only conquered the radio station FM4, but also reached international playlists and even cinema screens (see MOND, 2024, directed by Kurdwin Ayub). After their uncompromising debut “Never Enough” (2021), their current, celebrated album “All Filler No Killer” followed in 2024, which not only sounds incredibly good, but also never gets boring.
Live, BAITS deliver an intense experience every time that feels more like an empowering liberation than a boring punk rock routine. Carried by Sonja Maier's powerful, emotionally charged vocals, BAITS' sound is a perfect mix of anger and melancholy, pulsating with an overwhelming energy that is reminiscent of iconic bands like The Distillers, Pixies, PJ Harvey and a touch of Jay Reatard. They have proven all of this in recent years on around 200 large and small stages in Europe (AT, DE, CH, FR, NL, IT, CZ, SK, HU). For this they were nominated for the Austrian music prize Amadeus in the Hard/Heavy category in 2024 and 2025. BAITS are currently working on fresh songs in a new line-up to really go one better in 2026.
