About event
Are vision and planning in culture the key to overcoming difficult times?
What is their real effect and impact? And what are the possibilities and perspectives of funding culture at the local government level? Is it multi-sourcing? Innovation? The conference will seek answers to the main challenges of today, when culture faces a lack of resources, instability of spaces, inflation, consolidation, as well as misunderstanding and lack of interest. What can cities, regions, but also city districts do differently, better and more so that culture does not stagnate?
The Sixth Bratislava Cultural Forum (BaKF) with the subtitle Nezvykáme si: Municipalities in times of crisis in culture, will open a discussion on cultural policy at the level of municipalities and what role cities and regions can play in times of crisis in culture. The very name of the conference calls for an active reflection on the current situation and the search for new perspectives of sustainability and cultural development. Thematically, the conference will focus on three key areas of cultural policies within municipalities, namely strategic planning, financing of culture and participation.
The afternoon participative block of the Open House forum will open individual topics within discussion groups with the aim of obtaining valuable suggestions from actors and actresses of established and non-established culture, but also with the aim of more intensive networking of local governments, the private and civil sectors, and establishing cooperation. BaKF#6 will thus become an opportunity for intensifying dialogue, sharing data, experiences and innovative ideas across the cultural environment of Slovakia.
