About event
Barbora Botošová Band | Friday, October 17 at 8:30 p.m Christiania
Barbora Botošová is a renowned Slovak violinist and soloist who is profiled in the World Music genre. Continuing in the footsteps of her grandfather, the legendary Slovak musician Ján Berky Mrenica, Barbora is an important representative of this musical lineage. Her artistic ethos is firmly rooted in the family heritage, but at the same time she brings new and diverse genres to it. The band connects Čardáš, Balkan rhythms, music of different nations, swing, ethno and elements of jazz with virtuosity and deep emotion, which lifts people from their seats at every live concert. Barbora is the recipient of the prestigious Roma Spirit award in the culture category for long-term artistic contribution, which is proof of her dedication to musical excellence and cultural authenticity. Her band consists of excellent Slovak musicians and the court singer of the band, Michaela Bobeková. Barbora's work is a true showcase of talent, emotionality and the ability to create perfect musical fusions, thanks to which her band reaches a world level in the world music genre.
The Alterity Minority Festival 2025 is realized with the financial support of the Fund for the Support of the Culture of National Minorities.
