INTERMEDIATE LESSON DESCRIPTION

“Dancing through the ground with your partner- reimagining micro fundamentals”

Many people think micro blues is learning how to more subtly move your partner to create a closer connection. But actually everything you need to know about being a skilled micro dancer is how to orient your body to the ground and how your partner connects to the ground. Learn how to do more with less in this fundamental approach to micro.

WHAT IS BAREFOOT FUSION?

Fusion as a style was created by dancers from many different backgrounds creating a common dance language, so that dancers of all different styles and skill levels can share the floor. It’s partnered, improvisational, and dynamic. Come on out and learn with us, and you’ll be able to connect with music in a new way, gain a more complete understanding of your body, and join a worldwide community of partner dancers.

Barefoot is a POC & LGBTQIA safer event. This means bigotry of any kind is not tolerated. If you experience or see anything questionable, please let someone on the Portland Blues & Jazz Dance Society team know. Thanks for helping keep our dance a safe and welcoming space for all!
