Hernias (fractures) arise - regardless of the location - due to weak points in the connective tissue. This also applies to incisional hernias in the area of previous operations. The most common form is the inguinal hernia, which predominantly affects men.
According to current knowledge, the risk of entrapment (medical: incarceration) is lower than previously assumed. However, surgery makes sense if there are symptoms or the fracture is increasing in size. Modern minimally invasive procedures enable gentle care and a rapid recovery - individually tailored to the patient's situation.
