About event
This event is being switched to a virtually only event. Please join us for an in-depth discussion led by Dr. Seth Oliveria, MD, PhD.
This talk will address important questions you may have like: What is DBS? What benefits can I reasonably expect with DBS and what are its limitations? Am I a suitable candidate for DBS? What does DBS surgery involve and what is the recovery process like? How does treatment with DBS evolve as my Parkinson’s progresses and what does the future hold for DBS treatment? Dr. Oliveria will also answer other questions you may have.
Dr. Oliveria is the Director of Functional Neurosurgery, Providence Brain and Spine Institute and The Oregon Clinic Neurosurgery and Spine.
Dr. Oliveria attended Linfield College in McMinnville, OR. He earned his MD and his PhD in neuroscience from the University of Colorado, where his research focused on neuronal calcium channels. He completed his neurosurgical training at the University of Florida including a fellowship in stereotactic and functional neurosurgery. He performs general cranial and spinal neurosurgery and is particularly interested in deep brain stimulation and the surgical treatment of epilepsy.
Dr. Oliveria loves the outdoors, flyfishing, backpacking, photography, and snowboarding.
