Throughout the history of the music industry, women and LGBTQIA+ individuals who played roles other than that of singer have often remained invisible. This documentary now attempts to change that. Old companions and well-known stars recount the impressive life of Allee Willis.
The songwriter and producer has written hits for Earth Wind and Fire, the Pointer Sisters, Pet Shop Boys, and even the theme song for the TV sitcom Friends. But the film also addresses Willis' inner struggles with self-acceptance and her non-conformist approach to gender and sexuality norms.
