on September 28th Prof. Heribert Breuer decides on his 80th birthday week with a special concert evening: In the chamber music hall of the Philharmonie, three worldly cantatas by Johann Sebastian Bach - contrasting and with Fine humor.
The frame forms two festive cantatas with timpani and trumpets:
"God is my king" (BWV 71), a work on the inauguration of the Mühlhausen city council, opens the concert with a varied shine and remarkable depth. Particularly impressive: the aria of an old man - "I'm now eighty year" - which unfolds a touching personal note in the context of this evening.
The conclusion is "Tönet, your bang" (BWV 214), originally composed for the birthday of the Saxon Elector - a baroque homage full of sound.
Cheerful Coffee-Cantata (BWV 211), a musical miniature full of Esprit, in which father and daughter argue about the advantages of drinking coffee-Bach from his most entertaining side.
A top-class, internationally occupied soloist quartet-Catalina Bertucci, Annekathrin Laab, Daniel Johanns Lutz (J. S. Bach Foundation St. Gallen) on the harpsichord and choir and orchestra of the Berlin Bach Academy under the direction of its founder and anniversary, Prof. Heribert Breuer.
