Joseph-Joachim concert hall UDK Bundesallee (Bundesallee 11, 10719 Berlin)
In the last week of September, Heribert Breuer celebrates his 80th birthday with two groundbreaking Bach concerts.
The first on 21.09. takes place at Breuer's last place of work as a choral line professor in the Joseph-Joachim hall of the UDK. It is devoted to Bach's last work - the art of the fugue. This was Breuer's first great stream that he designed in Rome during his Villa Massimo scholarship in Rome a good 50 years ago. It almost represents his credo that Bach can not only be met with the so -called "historical performance practice".
For this, the head of the Berlin Bach Academy uses four quartet, whose instrumental occupation symbolizes four musical epochs: From the "old music" to classical and romance to the "cool jazz" of our century. Accompanied with great success last 50 years: At all well-known festivals at home and abroad, it was celebrated as "the most exciting art of the fugue". For this year's performance, Breuer has developed a revised version that ends with the last work of Johannes Brahms: "O world, I have to leave you". She sounds on September 21. as a premiere.
