About event

Bernarda Ballada
Lecture on women, not just for women!

The tension between the last, masterfully developed drama of Lorca's last drama between the life of the life and the desire for freedom, the desire for freedom and the fulfillment. The work sheds light on the limits of female identity, woman's physical and mental freedom in patriarchal society. The questions that are formulated in the context of the story can still be valid today.

Federico García Lorca was born at the end of the 19th century in a village in Andalusia, Fuente Vaqueros. His deep attraction to folk music and folk poetry is reflected in both lyric and dramatic oeuvre. In addition to the topics of folk songs and folk ballads - love, desire, hate, loss - the traditions of feudal times, defining Spanish rural life and the tragic human destinies they have ruined. Bernarda Alba's house is perhaps the most significant of these.

Bernarda Alba's second husband's died for eight years of mourning for the seller's daughters. The strict restrictions that come with it, complete seclusion from the outside world, are almost tangible and meat -cutting the suffocation of the actors of social expectations and rigid moral standards. The distance between the desires, needs, and bans of women who are now without a male is insurmountable.

Who is trying to live, survive in this medium: break or rescue, secretly or openly. However, the unreal and insoluble tension is increasing, with a shiny, shiny surface forged from discipline and obedience, and the tragic end is inevitable.

Bernarda Ballada speaks primarily in the language of dance. With the help of the text of the drama details and the author's poems and the musical world of folklore, it evokes the Lorca poetry and emotional saturation, the overwhelming power of passion.
