Bertolf / De Oosterpoort

Bertolf's love for music started with bluegrass. His father played almost nothing else and the parental home was full of guitars, mandolins and banjos. Not long ago, the singer-songwriter and guitarist traveled to Nashville to finally make his old dream come true: recording an album with his great heroes, musicians he has been listening to all his life. Dobro great Jerry Douglas, violin genius Stuart Duncan and bass legend Mark Schatz, among others, played along. Bluefinger is the title of Bertolf's new album. In the theater program of the same name, he performs his new work and the best songs and hits from previous albums, in acoustic bluegrass versions, played by the top of the Dutch bluegrass scene. Bertolf also talks about the history of bluegrass and plays gems from the genre.
