About event
He was a world-renowned ballet soloist and today an internationally recognized choreographer: Jiří Bubeníček will be a guest of the Pavel Šmok Institute at a talk on January 28 in the Municipal Library. Although he mainly works abroad, this year he prepared two full-length ballets for domestic companies: for the Prague Chamber Ballet, La Strada, based on Fellini's film adaptations, and for the Ballet of the National Theater in Brno, the dance drama Cyrano de Bergerac. Jiří and I will talk not only about these productions - and there will also be space for you, the audience and ballet lovers.
When and where: January 28, 2025 at 4:00 p.m. in the Small Hall of the Municipal Library on Mariánské náměstí in Prague. Entrance fee: CZK 100
We will talk about how dramatic ballets are created or what a dancer must master in order to succeed in his demanding profession today.
How during Jiří Bubeníček's dancing career, did the world of dance and ballet change? What challenges did he face as a performer and what challenges did he face today as a creator? What inspires him and drives him forward? Don't be afraid to ask!
