About event
The discussion about the book Bezprestania drojit will further present a multi-layered view of the work of Ivan Štrpka and Lonely Runners. The publication, which arose from the eponymous event and scientific conference, brings together the voices of poets, critics and friends, from reflections on the Hermov walk, blue mountains and flickering tents to personal memories and new poems. Together with Ivan Štrpko, its editors Veronika Rácová and Ivana Hostová, the book's designer Boris Meluš and the publisher, Slovak Literary Center, Dana Podracká will talk about the book. The discussion will be moderated by Jozef Mikloš.

The book Bezprestania štočit continued to be published in SLC, in the edition Searching for the present. It contains professional contributions by Ivana Hostová, Zoltán Rédey, Jaroslav Šranko, Petr Zajac, Viliam Nádaskaya, Eva Urbanová and Ján Gavura. The book is enriched with poems, personal memories, a selected personal bibliography and Ivan Štrpka's Calendar. The conference and evening program with discussions, a concert and an accompanying exhibition, which the publication follows, took place on September 19, 2024. The event at FF UK was prepared by the editors of the book, Veronika Rácová and Ivana Hostová.
At the conference, Ivan Štrpka expressed in the discussion that writing means acting semantically. The poet expressed his belief that if all the poems were entered into a computer and AI would create a supertext from the poems of the Lonely Runners, the real connections between images and the Hermian way of thinking and vision of the poets, over whom the god of semantics watches over, would be revealed. Ivan Štrpka, Mila Haugová, Dušan Dušek, Peter Milčák, Ján Buzássy, Miroslava Vallová, Daniel Hevier, John Minahane, Ján Gavura and Ivona Pekárková spoke in two discussion blocks. The poet Michal Tallo and the literary scholar Radoslav Passia took over the moderation.
Ivan Štrpka lives against the current and creates poem-net and poem-fish based on the symbolic principle. His work is one of the highlights of Slovak poetry.
