An explosive farce about conformity, populism and denial that will not leave the audience cold.

"Biedermann. 'Bieder' as honest. 'Mann' as man." Mr. Biedermann is an honest man. He has a good name among the people. As many times as he was accused, he was acquitted as many times. He is a decent person. And we need such a person in times of crisis. Everyone knows Mr. Biedermann. Although perhaps under a different name. People like him have never done anything wrong. They only made it possible. Without him, history would look completely different. He has survived every disaster so far, but this time…

What will happen when entrepreneur Biedermann finds himself face to face with the arsonists he has denied all along? And how to defend against threats that we don't want to admit? "Calm down! That doesn't concern us," replies Biedermann.

Swiss playwright Max Frisch (1911-1991), one of the most important authors of German-language literature, gave his play the subtitle "educational play without learning". The absurd social satire Biedermann and the arsonists will be presented in the adaptation of Lukáš Jeníček and Tom Skopal as a contemporary analysis of a petty bourgeois who prefers lies and hatred to the truth, thus causing the destruction of the city and its inhabitants.

"There are no arsonists. The firemen invented them. You have enough and I am not surprised. You want peace. Someone, who will listen to you and agree with you. The truth no longer matters."

Warning: The production deals with violence. In accordance with the artistic intent, smoke is used on stage and a smoke machine and stroboscopic effects are used.
