Do you like riding your bike all day? In beautiful places? Meeting interesting people, seeing new and different things? Getting off the beaten path?
Bike Touring is a great for of recreation -- inexpensive, fun, healthy, and immerses you in new places!
This is the first of four Bicycle Touring Slide Shows this winter.
6:30 Chris "Fool" McCraw, bicycle touring in Slovenia, with Jeff Bernards (formerly of Portland). They took E-bikes all over the eastern european country of Slovenia where Jeff now lives, staying in hotels and guesthousess.
6:55 Ian Crozer, Seattle WA to Boise ID. Ian is a recent migrant to Portland from Seattle, and this summer he left his house in Seattle and pedalled on mostly backroads to Boise. conventional bike. lots of camping.

7:40 Scott Batchelor, ride to the Solar Eclipse in the WIllamette Valley, August 2017. Scott rides an E-Bike and rode with other people on conventional bikes. After the eclipse they had the pleaure of breezing past miles and miles of stopped cars in the greated car traffic jam in Oregon history.
8:05 Ted Buehler, Czech Republic, 2025. Ted spent two months touring in Europe this summer, one of the nicer segments was along the Elbe River in CZ and into the former East Germany. Some camping, some hosteling. Conventional bike, fully loaded.
