About event
Billy Nomates arrived in the spring of 2020 with a striking debut single, simply entitled 'No'. The word also summarizes the overall tendency of her music: the fierce and pronounced artist from Bristol makes her songs from an urge to resist. On spiky sounding no-wave and postpunk, she rebelled in her speech vocal against themes such as Brexit, zero-hour contracts and gender inequality.
On May 16, 2025 Billy's third album 'Metalhorse', her first album that was recorded with full band Mandy Clyke from Tunst and Dukman will be released (Libert Mandy Clarke Bassist and Allall. Plain). Blues, folk and piano-driven packages push the tight punk sound of Billy Nomates in a more pastoral direction. You hear the recently released singles 'The Test' and 'Plans'.
