The part-time training of biographical documentary theater work-dance | Text | Scene at the Berlin Career College of the University of the Arts Berlin will go into the next round from October 2025. It serves as an orientation in the field of dance and theater pedagogy and conveys practical techniques and theoretical basics to work out its own artistic and theater pedagogical approaches and methods. The focus is on the development of scenic, interdisciplinary formats for different target groups. What is new is: the three modules dance, text and scene can be booked individually; If all modules are booked, it is possible to complete the course with a university certificate. The modules complement each other, but also work autonomously as a small unit. - Registrations are now possible and will be accepted by September 11th. The experienced lecturers convey theoretical basics as well as practical techniques of artistic and theater pedagogical work with biographical elements and their sociopolitical contexts. The expertise of Birgit Freitag strengthens the dance and movement area, in the Text module Thomas Avenhaus conveys techniques of biographical-creative writing in order to get closer to his own or foreign life stories. The participants learn, test and reflect forms of research-based work, the creation and improvisation of their own texts and movements as possible approaches to biographical documentary theater work. The course units take place on a total of ten weekends and conclude with a colloquium.

The certificate course is aimed at people who already have experiences in the artistic and/or theater pedagogical context and want to acquire knowledge of biographical documentary work: theater professionals, pedagogical and people with game managers. In order to expand and improve your own methods, playful practice is associated with theoretical reflection. Together, the participants edit questions of their individual attitude: Which position do I take into a group? How do I design a process artistically and didactically? How do I (M) use a biography productive for a theater project? The course content is intended to provide orientation for everyday professional life in the artistic field of art and in cultural education at various places of activity (schools, youth centers, theater, correctional facilities, citizens' stages, etc.). Diversity -promoting and cross -generational approaches and methods are included.
