About event

In a phase of rock music in which even the most hard-nosed bands no longer leave anything to chance, an angry, highly impulsive formation like the Black Foxxes become a sensation of artistic unmistakability. Their rock sound, charged with the anger of early punk and reminiscent of complex grunge epigones such as Brand New, achieves a rare balance of sonic eruptions and the stylistic sense of a great songwriter.
The Black Foxxes are also very close to the tradition that the best art only emerges from the suffering of its creator. This is particularly true for their singer, guitarist and mastermind Mark Holley, who has struggled with uncontrollable, episodic panic attacks since early childhood. Even countless therapeutic attempts brought little relief. From this helplessness, he began to shape his fears and frustrations into chords and lyrics. Because in music he found what no therapy could offer him: inner peace. For the first time in his life. Over four albums released between 2016 and 2025, Holley established his band, which oscillates between indie, alternative and emocore, as a strong creative force and, with the growing support of fans and media, secured a permanent place on the emotional rock'n'roll map. After the second album “Reiði”, the band underwent a complete overhaul - with the exception of Holley, the entire line-up changed once. Since then, it has become increasingly clear that Holley is willing to abandon all protections of intimacy and privacy in order to get to the real emotions. An artist who found his special way of verbalizing thoughts, emotions and fears.
With the fourth album “The Haar”, released in March of this year, which the band crowdfunded in the best DIY manner, Holley, together with drummer Finn McClean and bassist Jack Barrett, went one step further to combine music and personal messages into an inherent work.
Their intention was to bring the instinct, musical integrity and personal chemistry between the musicians to the fore put. The idea behind Black Foxxes is never to restrict the flow between the actors - a flow that, in addition to classic alternative rock characteristics, also contains synthesizers, distorted sound aesthetics and a range of leftfield sounds. How powerful and intense this becomes in concert has already been demonstrated by their last two German tours around “The Haar”, where their songs condense into true rock monoliths. And if the rumors currently circulating are correct, the optimal preparation for their four dates in Germany will be released immediately before their upcoming tour in spring - in the form of their first live album.
