About event
For over two decades it has been the powerful mix of traditional hard rock influences and emotionality that has made Black Stone Cherry spectacular. The quartet from Edmonton/Kentucky combines hard rock and rousing guitar riffs with contemporary energy and knows how to inspire people all over the world. Since their third album “Between The Devil And The Deep Blue Sea” (2011), they have achieved international chart success, which they underpin with their tireless live ethos. The upcoming tour of Germany in September 2026 will be their third within two years, and once again they will soon be making a live stop in every region of the country. Black Stone Cherry will be playing seven shows in Stuttgart, Berlin, Munich, Frankfurt, Bochum, Hamburg and Cologne between September 10th and 30th, 2026.
It seems like the opposite of their raw, wild sound: singer and guitarist Chris Robertson, drummer John Fred Young, bassist Jon Lawhon and guitarist Ben Wells grew up in very idyllic surroundings and founded Black Stone Cherry in 2001. Through their parents' records they discovered their love for rock music, which is in their blood. They developed their own style from classic influences such as Led Zeppelin, Lynyrd Skynyrd and AC/DC. The result is straightforward, passionate, riff-oriented hard rock with a southern touch.
In the USA, Black Stone Cherry were invited on tour by legends such as Def Leppard, Motörhead, Whitesnake and their heroes Lynyrd Skynyrd. What is particularly noticeable live is the positive mentality and exuberant enthusiasm of the musically uncompromising group. These successes made them continue to work even more consistently. Deservedly, all other albums – “Magic Mountain” (2014), “Kentucky” (2016), “Family Tree” (2018) and “The Human Condition” (2020) – became international hits.
After the band swapped their usual method of live recording for detailed track-by-track recordings on their last album, Black Stone Cherry with new bassist Steve Jewell returned to their usual approach for their last album to date “Screamin' at the Sky” (2023): The twelve songs were recorded live in an old theater in Kentucky. In doing so, they once again express the enormous urgency that always characterizes their live shows. In mid-April, "This is Black Stone Cherry's RSD Album. The band really likes it", a collection of B-sides, rarities and outtakes, was released for worldwide Record Store Day. And if things stay at their usual pace, we can probably expect their next studio album by the time of their tour in September 2026. You can and should be excited.
