About event
Let yourself be carried away by the Black Sun song cycle, in which Raskatov combines the power of the voice and poetry on 31 May 2026 in the Muziekgebouw.
composer Alexander Raskatov dedicated his Black Sun to the widow Irina Shostakovitsj with whom he has a close band. During mutual telephone conversations it happened regularly that she quoted entire poems from Osip Mandelstam from her head. For this song cycle, Raskatov chose poems that represent feelings of essential fear and melancholy for him. The score requires a dramatic soprano because of the enormous contrasts and the large ventricoy.
Program:
elena Firsova Memoria for violin solo
Maxim Shalygin Angel for pianotrio
leonid desyatno)
Alexander Raskatov Black Sun for soprano and piano (Dutch premiere)
