About event

Welcome to our Blender 3D Modeling Workshop and dive into the world of 3D modeling, lighting, and rendering!

WORKSHOP AGENDA

Whether you’re just starting out or an expert looking for a fun project, this workshop is for you! Join the digital dabblers and make your very own 3D render in Blender!

We’ll cover:

  • We will start by going through an overview of Blender, the UI, settings/preferences, and leave time for open Q/A (20 mins)
  • Next we will begin modeling a coffee mug (or similar 3d object)! (30-45 mins), this will cover the basics of 3d modeling such as: extruding, bevel tool, loop cuts, tips/tricks for selecting and handling a 3d mesh.
  • After this we will add some style to your 3d object! (30 mins), covering the basics of setting up shader nodes and talking conceptually about rendering.
  • Last, we will render our objects and compare results in two render engines (Cycles and Eevee).

But that’s not all – we’ll also have plenty of coffee, tea & snacks on hand to keep you energized and focused throughout the workshop.

About your Instructor:

Daniel is not only the founder of Digital Dabblers, Inc. a nonprofit for digital creatives, but he is also an experienced workshop host. Daniel has hosted hundreds of free socials throughout Portland and 100's of educational workshops for adults. All of the 3d models are approachable to newcomers and come with relaxed step-by-step instructions. Here's what Daniel had to say: "In all my years of teaching not a single student has failed to complete my 3d Modeling Intro workshop. And I've taught adults with disabilities, adults with Autism/ADD/ADHD, seniors, and newcomers to computers. You'll have fun and surprise yourself with what you're able to make!"
