BLUESWEISER / BEANS & BULLETS

Trnava is the "Mecca of Blues". So say music historians. The blues itself also has a wide musical scope. On May 15, 2026, Zelený kríčok in Trnava will welcome two musical groups with a blues focus. Blues-rock BEANS & BULLETS from Trnava and West Slovak BLUESWEISER, strongly connected to the Trnava music scene. Both groups are top in their hard blues rock focus. BEANS & BULLETS revolves around guitarist Michal Mandák and harmonica player and singer Jakub Daniš. It's a great "cut". BLUESWEISER is one of the oldest blues bands in Slovakia (established around 1984). Musically, he oscillates in the waters of funk blues, boogie and alternative. Singer and guitarist Jura DURA Turtev and guitarist Ivan Tomovič (from TT) are the band's creative duo. Despite celebrating their 40th birthday, the band is marching along with harmonica player Erich Boboš Procházko.

Beans & Bullets

was founded in 2012 as a band composed of proven musicians. She performed her first performances as a power trio (VOC+harm/GTR/DR), then in 2014 she won an award (2nd place) at the FAMAT festival of original bands. After a creative break in 2016 and part of 2017, Beans & Bullets starts again, this time in the form of a quartet in the cast: Kubo: VOC and harmonica, Mišo: GTR, voc, Milan: BS, voc, Peťo: DR, voc
In 2019, the band convinced the jury and the audience of the Blues Aperitiv 2019 competitive band show in Šumperk, and won a promotion to the international festival Blues Alive, and at the same time the audience award. The repertoire of B&B consists mainly of original compositions with a characteristic and energetic sound of old and modern blues. Underground in modern clothes, unusual arrangements and mainly honest live blues influenced by funk, southern rock and hard rock. In addition to the original compositions, the band has several important songs in the playlist, always precisely edited and dressed in their own clothes.

Bluesweiser

Bluesweiser is one of the oldest but also the best blues bands in Slovakia. It was founded around 1985 by Juraj Turtev and Erich Boboš Procházka. The label "blues" is a bit misleading these days. In a genre that many criticize - more or less rightly - for conservatism, "closing in twelve bars", Bluesweiser crosses all boundaries. The band is headed by two prominent personalities (both in the past crowned with titles - Bluesman of the Year, awarded annually by the Slovak Blues Society), whose collaboration determines the composition of Bluesweiser's style of expression. Singer, guitarist and lyricist Juraj "Dura" Turtev, famous for the breadth of his range (he plays in several groups), comes with an original vocal performance that carries very distinctive lyrics, completely free of traditional blues clichés. Guitarist and composer Ivan Tomovič is one of the greatest masters of his instrument in Slovakia, his approach to guitar playing is similar to Vernon Reid: technical perfection does not overwhelm the feeling of the genre and at the same time discovers new paths. Bluesweiser as a whole, moving somewhere on the edge of blues, funk, rock, but also with traces of jazz or alternative, is above all a great concert attraction that should not be missed. The band performed at almost all major festivals in the V4 countries, Germany and Russia. She released two CDs.
