About event
Signature of (y)our life.
While the question of how to talk to your own body and how to came to his skills, while other bodies' notes flash around: Inspiring. Confusing. Annoying. Disgusting. Tenderly. All this knowledge of all these bodies! Could this possibly be helpful!? What came before, what has more weight, where to go with it and how to keep order?
Teresa Stelzer collects the story(s) of bodies in her solo using dance and pantomime. Subsequently, the opportunity to add a piece of one's own history (workshop) is offered.
This stage solo allows itself to be left open when and if it will be completed at all. For the first version in June 2022, performer Teresa Stelzer first explored how to talk to one's body rather than about it. Using meditative and somatic methods, she searched for the narrative of her own body and uncovered memories. In order to give the audience at least a thread to grab onto throughout the evening, for the second cast in May 2023 she focused more specifically on the methods from which her work on stage draws the most: Pantomime, the Feldenkrais method and Butoh Curiosity, how the subject of the history of the body is approached in other places, she subsequently brought it to various museums and archives. Teresa Stelzer took away both instructive and touching moments from these trips. Thanks to the possibility, with the help of the audience, following the play, to complete the very signature of one's own body and to make individual moments of glory available to others, now follows the effort to design a temporary collective archive of the body.
Teresa Stelzer
Teresa Stelzer first gained journalistic experience, in 2011 at the Technical University of Chemnitz, she subsequently completed her bachelor's degree in the field of European Studies with a focus on cultural studies. She decided to approach things from a broader artistic point of view. Since 2015, she has been a full-time theater creator. Her artistic character Fräulein panTo.c follows the tradition of mime blanche and a comedic acting style. In the form of walk acts and mostly non-verbal outputs, he increasingly seeks individual interaction with the audience.
