Boeklancering van Herman Hertzbergers Shaping Freedom

Come to the book launch of Shaping Freedom, the new book by Herman Hertzberger.

Come to the book launch of Shaping Freedom, the new book by Herman Hertzberger. The 93-year-old architect talks to young, recently graduated architects about the future of architecture and the role of the architect.

According to Hertzberger, the living crisis cannot be solved as long as building is mainly about winning. Architects then become set builders on an empty stage. He argues for a different approach: architecture must match the daily lives of people. It is not about separate buildings, but how space can connect and help us live together.

* Shaping Freedom* is about ideas that Hertzberger has been working on for years. The book is in line with his well -known work *Lessons for Students in Architecture *, in which he criticized the soulless reconstruction after the war in the 1960s. Just like then, he draws hope out of the enthusiasm of young architects and students. They take their responsibility seriously and stand up for important values. * Shaping Freedom* is therefore written especially for them.

Do you want to hear more about his vision? Come to the book launch and think along about the future of architecture.
