About event
🔑 November 17 – a symbol of freedom, but still raises questions. His story is not black and white or closed. Sometimes it is celebrated as the heroism of individuals, at other times it is turned into a tool of political disputes. So how should we remember November today?
🗣️ The discussion will take place with:
🎙️ presenter of the Dejiny podcast Agáta Šústová Drelová,
📚 political scientist with a focus on gender studies Zuzana Maďarová,
📖 and historian Matej Ivančík.
👉 We will focus on how November 17 became a tool of political struggle, what meant the role of women in revolutionary events and why their role is often overlooked. How can November 17 be updated in the present? Who is the bearer of the legacy of the revolution?
👐 The event will be interpreted into Slovak sign language for the Deaf and hearing impaired. We therefore ask that you allow a sufficient view of the interpreting person.
The event will be held in the Faust Hall.
🤝 We are preparing the program in cooperation with the organization I Think - the Deaf Culture Center.
