We look forward to seeing you!

"Though actors are essential to Shakespeare's intention, Hamlet can be read without hearing it; and though few people can derive pleasure from reading musical notation, symphonies have their demi-existence on paper. Architecture also has its existence before it becomes reality, and there is a second history of architecture parallel to that It is a history of architecture that is not limited by technical details and is not influenced by the whims of patrons or the demands of finance, politics and customs = paper architecture." Arthur Drexler, Visionary Architecture, press release, MoMA, NYC, US, September 1960

The Brown Lecture Series (BLS2) is a3kat lecture series where our guests will express their relationship to the landscape and also offer possible answers to the questions we ask in our current assignment:
What is the relationship between architecture and the landscape? The landscape or its sections can be considered architecture, or what is essential for a landscape to be architecture? Which processes present in the creation of the landscape could be an inspiration for the creation of architecture?

The landscape is our primary environment, and just like our biological needs, cultural expressions are derived from living in it. Elements of animate and inanimate nature and their natural processes have always been present in the creation of architecture. It draws from its pictorial diversity and material base, which is its natural base. However, the state of the country is by no means satisfactory. Its global decline, as well as its local deterioration, is a signal to increase our interest in it itself. We need to develop effective tools for its protection and try to conceive it in connection with the creation of architecture.

The Brown Lecture Series was created with the financial support of the KEGA 002VŠVU-4/2025 project.
