Brahms (2e symfonie), Berlioz & Weber

We have never played a Brahms symphony before. But that is now going to change. His second symphony is so sad that the score should be published with a mourning border. And to stay in that theme, we also program La Mort de Cléopâtre by Berlioz. A piece of music in which Cleopatra's chosen suicide takes precedence over captivity. Although it doesn't sound very cheerful, you undoubtedly know that the toughest emotions can result in the most beautiful music. And that is exactly what we are going to show: beautiful music. We do this together with singer Barbara Kozelj.

We open the concert with the Overture from der Freischütz, composed by Carl Maria von Weber. We look forward to seeing you in De Duif on November 1!
