Bratislava will once again belong to literature from May 27 to 31, 2026.
Bratislava book festival BRaK will take place for the 13th year and its epicenter will be Hlavné and Františkánske námestie, together with locations in their immediate surroundings. The festival theme is: "We need to talk..." - BRaK will open it throughout the program to the public and the professional community.
The first 100 tickets can be purchased at a discounted price of €15. After they are sold out, the pre-sale price is €19, on-site €25. Children under the age of 12 have free entry.
BRaK offers more than 100 events for all age categories. Author meetings, staged readings, shows and performances, concerts, exhibitions and discussions.
What does the season ticket include - entrances to:
- Ceremonial opening of the festival at DPOH, May 27 at 7:00 p.m., connected with the presentation of the Eugene Gindl Prize for reportage literature
- All literary, theatrical and musical events in individual festival locations
- A two-day conference for book professionals and libraries (May 28-29) focused on reading for the visually impaired and producing tactile books, exporting literature, selling rights and licenses, the UNESCO network of cities of literature and much more
- Exhibitions and accompanying program
- Comics zone with a three-day program, discussions, lectures and live painting
More than 200 guests from more than 15 countries will perform at BRAKu. You can look forward to the bestseller Jakub Stanjura (CZ), whose novel Srpny is also being published in Slovak, Constance Debré (FR) with the book Love Me Tender, the film adaptation of which is currently playing in cinemas, the rising star of Icelandic literature María Elísabet Bragadóttir, an exhibition by top artist Andrej Dúbravský and the launch of his new book, the author of Sedliačok – Joanna Kuciel-Frydryszak (PL) – the book that dominated the Slovak charts.
