About event
Branko performs at the Coliseu dos Recreios, in Lisbon, on November 28th. The Portuguese musician celebrates two decades of his career, which encompasses his journey with Buraka Som Sistema, 1-Uik Project and the last 10 years with his solo career.
Branko is at the epicenter of contemporary music Portuguese. The most varied collaborations and participations with renowned artists place João Barbosa (Branko) as a distinct pillar in the construction of the narrative of current Portuguese music.
The beginning with the seminal project 1-Uik Project, the launch of global meteorite Buraka Som Sistema, through the already iconic television program created for RTP, entitled “Club Atlas”, to the unforgettable presentation at Eurovision, with a presentation curated by Sara Tavares, Mayra Andrade, Plutónio and Dino D` Santiago . With this last artist they created hymns from the present of Portuguese music – Tudo Certo, Lokura and Nova Lisboa -, resulting in proof that Branko concentrates within himself this new sound that comes from Portugal and that is gaining more and more followers.
With his new album, Soma, released in March 2024, producer, composer, DJ, visionary, Branko challenged himself to further raise the level of excellence to which we have become accustomed. The new album is the result of in-depth study, research, travel and production, where the artist presents his versatile universe of musical composition. Branko invited musicians into the studio to add harmonies and melodies to his productions. The artist presents 12 new songs with appearances by national and international guests such as Teresa Salgueiro, Tuyo, Carla Prata, Yeri & Yeni, Carlão, Dino D`Santiago, BiaB, June Freedom and even Jay Prince, with the theme “ Slide” which continues to be highlighted on BBC Radio 1, in England.
In a tour that is covering the main venues in the country, now is the time to announce the hall of excellence: Coliseu dos Recreios, in Lisbon. On November 28th, a memorable page in Branko's history is scheduled.
