BRATISLAVA DESIGN WEEK
THE CITY LIVES BY DESIGN!

The largest international festival of contemporary design in Slovakia, Bratislava Design Week, will take place this year on October 16-20. The main headquarters of its 15th year! they will be in OD PRIOR on Kamenno námestí and in the permanent exhibition of the Baroque collection in the Mirbach Palace of the Bratislava City Gallery. 🔸 The theme of the festival is RELATIONSHIPS, which it pursues in a broader sense and through various design projects. Relationships are sometimes obvious and sometimes hidden. They know how to define us, move us forward and destroy us. They open doors and educate, change us.

🔸The main headquarters of the festival will be located in OD Prior and on Kamenná náměstí in front of OD Prior. On the second floor you will find a selection of personalities and works of contemporary European design (IT, FR, CH, CZ, AT, UA, PL, HU, NL) as well as works created directly for BADW in the curatorial concept of Damian Cehlárik. In addition, a large exhibition of works by designers and design schools that were selected through OPEN CALL. Part of the program also takes place on the Stone Square in front of the Prior


🔸 In the second headquarters, in the premises of the Bratislava City Gallery, the Expedition D exhibition will be presented, which will present works and collaborations in Slovak design in a variety of material and conceptual design – Sylvia Jokelová and Jana Hojstričová, Vnem, Sebastian Komáček, Erika Remencova and IOKO, Sylvia Sukopová, Erik Vrábel, Lucia Židek Gamanová, Crafting Plastic! and others. In the Master of Slovak Design Edition of BADW, we will present the work of the bard of Slovak design, Karol Weisslechner, from the late 1980s and 1990s.
