About event
The Dorotheenstädtische Friedhof is one of the most famous cemeteries in Berlin - also because Brecht's final resting place is there. But many of his comrades-in-arms also rest there; many whom he shaped, promoted and inspired or who supported him. If threads were pulled between the graves, a densely woven network would emerge. The tour aims to trace these lines, references and influences.
With the burial of Johann Gottlieb Fichte around 200 years ago, the cemetery first became the focus of attention. The cemetery subsequently became an attractive resting place for intellectuals with the burial of Karl Friedrich Schinkel, and later with the burial of Bertolt Brecht. In cooperation with the Evangelical Cemetery Association of Berlin City Center, the Brecht Weigel Museum offers themed cemetery tours every second Wednesday at 2 p.m. Meeting point is the inner courtyard of the Brecht House.
