About event
plus special guest THE FELICE BROTHERS
Doors: 6:30 p.m.
Bright Eyes was created in 1995 in a basement in Omaha as a stage name for the work of the then 15-year-old Conor Oberst the producer and multi-instrumentalist Mike Mogis. Mogis and composer/arranger/multi-instrumentalist Nate Walcott became full members in 2006.
Over the past two-plus decades, Bright Eyes have released one time capsule LP after another - urgent messages from the transcendent, the ephemeral eras of our collective lives - while also compiling a robust, mature, narratively coherent discography that is currently being reissued via Dead Oceans. Since 2022, they have gradually re-released their nine albums as part of a "companion" series, with each album accompanied by a new EP consisting of newly recorded songs with new musicians (including Gillian Welch & Dave Rawlings, Waxahatchee, First Aid Kit, Phoebe Bridgers and others) as well as a cover song.
Over the course of 28 years, Bright Eyes have significantly influenced pop culture and appeared in countless films and television shows. Their songs have been covered by dozens of artists, including Lorde, The Killers, Mac Miller, Phoebe Bridgers, Jason Mraz and beabadoobee, and sampled by rappers such as Young Thug and Lil Peep. For a band that has often been perceived as an outlier, the depth, breadth and impact of the Bright Eyes canon is remarkable.
Tickets for the shows in Cologne and Berlin are available from Friday, June 28th, 2024 in the exclusive presale on www.eventim.de.
